GranMachina Millenium Hybrid Championship: Season 1 Archive

The accounts of the first installment of the flagship championship for the GranMachina series.

Well, the checkered flag has dropped on the first season of the GranMachina Millenium Hybrid Championship. The competition was absolutely fierce, with a collection of some of the greatest hybrid builders and drivers in the world battling it out over four regular season races. In those four races, four different winners emerged, a testament to the way the rules and regulations of the series are created to use participant input to create a series in which everyone has a shot, and you just never know until it's all over...
After the dust had settled in Monterey, CA, KAB had come away with the victory in the grueling Monterey 24. A 24 lap endurance race in the heat of the desert at the fabled Laguna Seca Racetrack. The victory could have put him one point ahead of his very own teammate, pitviper, in the Driver Championship. Pitviper had turned in the fastest lap of the race, however, setting a blistering 49.375 on lap 13. That lap would give him the point that brought the totals even. So, just as KAB and Pitviper's Coast2Coast Racing team won the Team Championship, they would together hoist the Driver's Title trophy as well. The win was not without some luck, however, because Konaloa 720 had warped his way around the desert road in a blinding display. He made the 24 lap journey in just over 20 minutes and 30 seconds, far more than enough for the win. But he had won the previous race by a tremendous 45 seconds, and with that penalty added to this week's race, he fell just short of the total time set by KAB. But that's how it goes in the hyper-competitive world of GranMachina GT Racing. There were many other storylines as well this season, such as the back and forth battle that raged all season long between the family blood trio of Bronco Racing and the swift power of the Chop Shop Racing team. This first season was filled to the perverbial brim with mass excitement and mega horsepower fury melting the asphalt, and it was only FOUR RACES LONG!!! Next season will grow to 10 races, in tracks that will span the globe, testing once again the strength and mettle of this magnificant collection of drivers and builders.

CONDUCT
I'm not going to be too finicky about the whole "corner cutting/wall riding" issue. Especially when we are running this kind of power. just get from startto finish.

Be honest. i know i probably don't haveto say this. Anybody who is lying about their times to recieve the glory of a video game racing series championship is a pathetic low-self esteemed wuss. (so much for being professional there!) We are here to have fun. winning is a by product.
